Adding a Neuron from a published paper

Generally, the way that you will do this is to selection the Annotations for the neuron before you start to enter the information. For example, if all of the information comes from a published paper, then you will set that as the reference that you are working with.

  • Go to Set Refs for instructions on this.

If the Reference is not already in the database, then you can import it from Pubmed using Import Data.

  • Do an advanced search for Neuron
    • All neurons will show up.
    • Check the edit box.
    • At the bottom of the list of neurons, a box will appear, called -Neuron Instance:
  • Enter the name of the new neuron and hit add new instance.

You have just created a new neuron entry. Now you can edit its Properties and Relations.
