This is the Help page for Results Network from a search query. It shows the interconnections of neurons as stored in the branch knowledge base. The system uses plugin software called NetworkViz.

Page Elements

Tabs and Menus

  • The Tabs at the top show Results List and Results Location Views.
  • There are two menus:
    • The top menu has Neurons and Connections, which have pulldown menus for restoring hidden neurons and connections, respectively.
    • The lower menu has four selections:
      • Undo Last - restores the last hide item (neuron or connection).
      • Undo All - Restores all hidden neurons and connections.
      • Tree Layout - toggles between two initial layouts of the connection tree:
        1. Node Link Tree - (default) in which the most connected neuron is shown to the left
        2. Radial Link Tree - in which the most connected neurons is shown in the center.
        • Note that sometimes there is a problem with switching Tree Layout modes. Workaround is to click in window.
      • Help - brings you to this page.

Window Elements

  • Neurons are displayed by their names
  • Connectivity:
    • Chemical synaptic connections are shown in red.
      • Direction of arrow goes from presynaptic to postsynaptic neuron.
    • Electrical synapses are shown in green.
    • Neurons with no connections are shown highlighted in blue.

Mouse Controls

  • Left Mouse click and drag
    • on white area to Pan the image
    • on a neuron to manually rearrange tree.
  • Right Mouse click
    • on white area and drag to Zoom the image:
    • on a neuron or connection to reveal pop up menu:
      • See Neuron Detail to go to the Detail Page of a neuron (or connection).
      • Hide Neuron to hide a neuron (or connection)
        • You can hide multiple neurons or connections.
  • Double click on a neuron to center the tree on that neuron.
    • The Tree is locked to the neuron that is highlighted at its center.
    • By default, this is the neuron with the most connections.
    • The entire tree can be moved by dragging the central neuron.,
