Announcing the NeuronBank Wiki
A new feature has been added to NeuronBank; a Wiki (
NeuronBank.org/wiki). This wiki allows users to provide further information about all entries within NeuronBank. Registered users can edit the content of the wiki. It can be used to explain aspects of neurons, to comment on data that was used to arrive at a conclusion, or to discuss current controversies.

The Tritonia Branch of NeuronBank is nearing Completion.
Most of the published neurons and their synaptic connections have been added to the database. We will be soliciting input about completeness shortly. This will be followed by a publication announcing the completion.

NIH R21 grant funded
Starting March 15th, 2006, NeuronBank is supported by a two year R21 exploratory grant from the Human Brain Project, administered through NIMH.

Visualization software tests begin
The visualization team has created an application that is now being tested. It allows a 3-D model of the brain to be rotated and aligned with a microscope image. Neurons can then be marked on the surface of the brain.
